Foreword

frica is the world’s biggest youth reservoir. It has no shortage of talented and highly ambitious young people, or of opportunities for them to study at the university of their dreams. The best universities in the world are showing an increasing amount of interest in students from Sub-Saharan Africa, and the number of scholarships available to help these students fjnance their studies is also growing fast. In spite of this, African students are still under-represented in these universities. There are still huge challenges to overcome in gaining admission, for two reasons: the students do not receive adequate preparation at secondary level, and the universities in question have little confjdence in the qualifjcations presented by foreign college graduates. For example, in the United States, which is the country most open to international students, there are only 31,000 students from sub- Saharan Africa out of a total of 900,000 foreign students. Enko Education has set itself a challenge: to reverse this trend, and improve access to these prestigious universities for students from sub-Saharan Africa, with the aim of helping them to have a signifjcant social and economic impact

  • n their continent. Those who choose to return to their country of origin will

benefjt from better job opportunities, an improved professional network, and excellent entrepreneurial skills. Those who prefer to stay in the country where they completed their studies will have the opportunity to gain more experience and earn a better salary, and will be able to support their families at home. We designed the Enko Education schools with this in mind. We offer top-quality international programmes leading to globally recognised qualifjcations, a university admissions counselling programme to guide our students through the university applications process, and a unique educational experience. Enko Education offers an international education that is more accessible fjnancially, throughout all of Africa, with the aim of providing its learners with a springboard to the best universities in the world. We must increase these initiatives, because I truly believe that Africa needs more Enko schools to prepare the adults of the future."
