Advancement Fellow: Lauren Hubbard •Develop and implement strategies to increase student philanthropy on campus •Manage all aspects of the 1834 Student Giving Campaign (committee management, donor education, marketing, event planning, stewardship) • Donations to date: 430+ people, $24,000+ •Met with apx. 50 young and reunion year alumni for solicitation and cultivation “The support and experience Fellows receive is remarkable and is hands down the biggest benefit for me as a recent graduate…”

Advancement Fellow: Trevor Taylor •Has met with 106 Wake Forest alumni in cities like Boston, New York, and Nashville. •15% of contacts have followed up with gifts to the University. •Creating Alumni Service Handbook for future Advancement personnel. “We saw the outside of the ‘machine’ for four years, and now I get to see what it takes to make the machine run.”

Information Systems Fellow: Darcy Delph •Creating Wake Forest’s first-ever Business Services Catalogue •Member of the WFU Google Mail implementation team •Created report on the current student perspective of I.S. •Member of IT Executive Team and Innovation in Technology and Information Strategic Planning Committee “I am extremely excited [about] my role as the Information Systems Fellow and hope to continue fostering the technological aspect of the Wake Forest experience.”

Provost’s Office Fellow: Velvet Bryant •Worked with NYC production crew to create a video for the Institute for Public Engagement. •Worked with faculty across the University to submit a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence proposal. •Collaborating with faculty and administrators to create first-ever summer program for high school students at WFU •Co-writing a center planning grant for Mediterranean Studies. “Not only do I have a place at the administrative table, but I also have a voice and can share my thoughts and ideas as we implement our 2008 Strategic Plan.”

Provost’s Office Fellow: Matt Triplett •Planned NanoConference in celebration of the WFU Nanotechnology Center’s five-year anniversary. •Creating a new WFU YouTube channel •Orchestrate new pilot program with The Economist and Economics and Political Science Departments. •Creating and implementing new faculty- student engagement programs •Staffing a dean search committee “It’s an eye-opening opportunity that sheds light on the ways in which Wake Forest University is a unique and special place to be.”

Division of Student Life Fellow: Trayonna Floyd • Responsible for the planning stage of a holistic and comprehensive student development program •Project manager for the “Senior Celebrations” initiative •Member of the Mentoring Resource Center Director search committee •Collaborated to plan the University’s first-ever MLK Day of Service “My experience as a fellow has changed my life in more ways than one. Six months later, I still believe that I made the best decision by taking this fellowship!!

  8. 2008-2009 Wake Forest Fellows Lydia Harter (08-09 Fellow in Advancement) oversees Young Alumni and Reunion Programs for Wake Forest University Advancement. Keon McGuire (08-09 Fellow in Student Life) is a PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania.

  9. 2008-2009 Wake Forest Fellows Tristan Salvanera (08-09 Fellow in the President’s Office) is employed by the General Services Administration as a contract specialist in Washington, D.C. Parul Patel (08-09 Fellow in the Provost’s Office) is Special Assistant to the Dean of the Wake Forest University Schools of Business.
