Some Questions We Have Already Received

Question

  • Can I transfer my child to a different school that

is not JCSHS or LBBHS? Answer

  • Our high school transfer process is still the same

and a student may apply for a transfer for a specific program (grades 10-12) not offered at their designated school

  • All transfers will be based on space and

resources at the available school.

Some Questions We Have Already Received

Question

  • Why don’t you stop students from other schools

(Charter, Catholic, Private) from attending JCS? Answer

  • As mentioned previously when sharing the

feedback from the in person high school sessions, CBE is a public school system and students residing within the designated areas of the school are able to attend regardless of whether they had previously attended a private, charter or Catholic School.

Some Questions We Have Already Received

Question

  • What will student transportation look like?

Answer

  • There are school express routes from the

communities of McKenzie Lake and Douglasdale to Lord Beaverbrook High School for the current school year and we expect these routes to continue next year. We continue to work collaboratively with our partners at Calgary Transit who will be aware of these upcoming changes.
