Madhupur Forest
Madhupur Forest situated in Tangail District, comprising an area of 45565.18 acres is located at the middle part of Bangladesh. More bio diverse than other forests and is a valuable terrestrial ecosystem on our planet. Forest has been degraded and reshaped with cultivations of pineapple, banana and plantations of commercial tree species.
Cause of Deforestation: Cutting down the forest trees without any precautious measurement. Effects of Deforestation Negative Impact of Climate change Wild species faced the major consequences.
A comparison of the satellite images of 1967 and 2003 clearly shows 85% greenery of the core Area of Madhupur National Park had disappeared in 36 years.
(a)Absolute dependency of local people on Madhupur Forest for firewood and household implements, (b)Dispute and complicacy over land ownership, (c)Encroachment of forest land, (d)Absence of political commitment and non- cooperation from the political figures. (d)Non-pragmatic approach of forest department to address local problems.
Re-vegetate the forest back to its real form Convince the Lumberjack from cutting trees by providing some alternative process for their needs. Lumberjacks are advised to plant trees in order to gain forest to its original form, and to monitor the forest for protection to prevent others from cutting down the trees.
A project entitled with “ Re-vegetation of Madhupur Forest through Rehabilitation of Forest Dependent Local and Ethnic communities " has been launched. Ensuing that the green coverage of Madhupur Forest is returning back. Raising awareness among the local people about the importance of trees and to change livelihood patterns. Ensuring that forest dependent families are able raise their capacity to generate sustainable income through improving their skills. Reducing the dependency of local people by improving their standard of life and enabling them to be self-reliant. Ensuring secure habitat for wildlife by planting native tree species. Mitigating to climates change.

Jangolia Garden Shamajik Garden Tinshal Garden
this garden begins at 2009 and it is still expanding. Contains 200 hectors pineapple trees are mostly available, also they planted jackfruit trees, Banana trees, and many more Images of Jangolia Garden
contains about 250 hectors, this garden was formed in 2007,before the project begins commonly pineapple trees are found as always, also mango, jackfruit trees are also available Images of Shamajik Garden
Largest vegetated garden in Madhupur Forest, formed in 2004 It is over 350 hectors pineapple, jackfruit, banana, mango, and other varieties of trees available, and this garden has the maximum number of tree varieties of all. Images of Tinshal Garden
CFWs (Community Forest Workers) are patrolling around Madhupur Forest. CFWs are committed to protect the forest at all cost, and will not to allow anybody to cause any disturbances. Nearly five thousand forest dependent families planted about 1 million seedlings in their own house premises. Others living in that zone became self-reliant regarding fruit, timber and fuel wood consumption.
Project has built up confidence among the local and Ethnic communities. Positive attitude has been developed among the people from all corners of Madhupur Positive mental changes have been observed among Community Forest Workers. Forest floor has been recovered with numerous plant species. After the huge forest recoveries, finally it can be said that the ecosystem resilience in Madhupur is now in balance.
