Affordable Care Act (ACA) signed March 23 rd , 2010 Has expanded availability of Medicare/Medicaid health insurance to millions of Americans. In most cases, Medicare/Medicaid does not fully reimburse providers for the cost of care. Cowlitz County has a higher-than-average Medicare/Medicaid population (PeaceHealth Longview 4.5 : 1 Ratio of Medicaid to Commercial) Each 1% increase in Medicaid is approximately $500K loss to PH St. John Medical Center unless offset with Commercial Business
