Height Adjustment - Preliminary Testing

10/22/2015 RIT Thermal Analysis Microfluidics and Fuel Cell Lab Slide 12

  • Stage found in the lab
  • Has relatively fine

adjustment

  • Need to fabricate base

plate to mount it securely to the isolation table

Height Adjustment - Preliminary Testing

  • For flexibility of

injection system to allow for needle to move chose brake lines

  • Can withstand high

pressures (3,000psi+)

  • “Stainless Steel” lines

have teflon tube to carry brake fluid, covered by stainless steel mesh for protection

  • Robust and cost

effective

The Oscillator - Preliminary Testing

10/22/2015 RIT Thermal Analysis Microfluidics and Fuel Cell Lab Slide 16

  • Approached Dr. Lam to discuss speaker dampening
  • Two really important points

○ Added noise in graphs due to lights ■ No way to get rid of that ■ Can implement a filter to reduce the noise ○ We should be wearing earplugs!! ■ Certain frequencies can be damaging to our ears ■ All feasibility testing was done wearing earplugs

The Next 3 weeks

Slide 20 10/22/2015 RIT Thermal Analysis Microfluidics and Fuel Cell Lab

  • Joe and Alyssa will design a fixture to hold the speaker and

test oscillations ○ Rob will construct the fixture ○ Collecting data ■ Need to make sure the meniscus is oscillating at the same frequency that the speakers are outputting

  • Using high speed cameras and consulting

experts

  • Feasibility analysis on the capacitance sensor with
  • scillations
  • Purchasing brake lines and stainless steel syringe
  • Rearranging system layout
  • Baking more cookies and a bike ride
