Program Background � Administers the State Newborn Screening, Early Hearing and Birth Defects Registry Surveillance Programs � Provides follow up for all newborns identified Provides follow up for all newborns identified with inconclusive or presumptive positive screening results � Provides follow up for all infants who fail a hearing screen test

  5. Background Cont’d • Tracks children ages birth to 21 years old identified with a birth defect to include in the state birth defects registry • Coordinates care for Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) in the state
