  6. COMMUNICATION FACTS Parents Web is #1 method Zoom links will be posted on FACTS of communication - please check it Students ~ Google Classroom regularly for homework, assignments and grades. Homework is posted on FACTS . Email all teachers involved Teacher Office Hours

  7. Social Studies Each student has a log-in for the HMS website called Ed Your Friend in Learning This gives access to the online book, videos and interactive activities. Module and Lessons assessments may also be assigned here Please take good care of the books - they are only 1 year old

Google Classroom ● Assignments and links ● Central point for finding assignments per subject area. ● Parents can access Google Classroom, upon request to the teacher. ● Access Classroom from Chromebook or any home computer/device with their login and password. ● Students should download the app on their phones or tablets can be helpful when needing to upload a photo of an assignment.

  9. STUDENT EXPECTATIONS Charged devices are required in every class every day Must use school supplied Chromebook and SBS email . Must have their own supplies Must utilize an agenda (actual or digital) to record assignments in each class Attendance required with online classes

  10. All hardcover textbooks must be covered. Student Expectations Religion books & English WB are consumable Students are to wear uniform and be in a place of learning free from distractions

  11. Uniform Belts : required for boys EVERY DAY Skirt/skort: lengths (must touch the top of the knee from a standing position) Shoes : Black, white, or gray only. No slip-ons or high tops Other : Socks (4” above top of shoe), no make-up, clear nail polish only, hair is naturally colored and boys haircut …... Mass Day Uniform: New requirements of sweater/sweater vest Non-uniform days : Modest and appropriate dress at all times Please always refer to the Handbook

Socratic debates; critical thinking skills Integration with science (*Time For The Stars*), social studies (To Kill A Mockingbird; Night). 4th book TBD. TED talks, Design-Based Learning, presentation skills Lots of writing: creative, formal essay, DBQs (Document-Based Essay Questions)

  17. 7th Grade ELA: Mrs. Miller & Ms. Naughton Mythology : Begins this week Novel Studies: The Outsiders, Chasing Lincoln’s Killer, Adventures of Ulysses Writing process; proofreading, Greek Week (TBD), vocabulary; grammar; creative writing, essays, poetry, depth & complexity critical thinking skills.

Students must still show their work Instant feedback on answers Students given multiple opportunities for correct answer - perseverance is essential No need to purchase a book Grade level and advanced placement determined using a variety of data .   19. Spanish Auténtico Spanish Program: Savvas Learning Company (Formerly Pearson K12 Learning) Twice a week 7th: Mon/Wed & 8th: Tues/Thurs.** Immersion in authentic Spanish language and cultural experiences through text, video, audio, & online learning. NEED Earbuds/with a Mic.

  20. Spanish Assignments submitted online through Google Classroom. Spanish is a letter grade and averaged in GPA ** Virtual schedule is as follows: 7th Gr Tuesdays 11:30:-12:15 & 8th Gr. Thursdays 11:30-12:15

  21. Clever.com ● Log in with Google ● Automatically logs them into Clever & Amplify (science curriculum) Google Classroom Students need to take notes in a science composition book and submit work with a PDF scanner app

  22. Amplify Science Online program, no textbook. Follows an online module format (similar to Canvas and college programs). Students interact with virtual models, simulations, and apply scientific concepts to real world problems. Amplify features as integrated model, so students get biology, chemistry, earth science, and physics both years.

Credible Catholic Science and Faith Program St. Bonaventure was one of the parishes selected to trial run the Credible Catholic Program where students apply science inquiry skills to miraculous phenomenon of the faith. Topics include forensic analysis of the Shroud of Turin, medical records of Marian miracles, and Genesis/2nd Law of Thermodynamics.
