God is Faithful: To Israel and to Us

• Lam. 3:19, “Remember my affliction and

roaming [homelessness], the wormwood and the gall.

• Lam. 3:20, “My soul still remembers and

sinks within me.”

• Lam. 3:21, “This I recall to my mind,

therefore I have hope.

• Lam. 3:22, “Through the LORD’S mercies

[chesed] we [Israel] are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

• Lam. 3:23, “They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness [emunah].”

• Lam. 3:24, “ ‘The LORD is my portion

[share, inheritance],’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I hope in Him!’

• Lam. 3:25, “The LORD is good to those

who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.

• Lam. 3:26, “It is good that one should hope

and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.”

The Danger of Anti-Semitism

Rejecting the Jewish peoples’ right to live in the land of their forefathers denies their right to live as a distinct people and to have a secure homeland where they can flee in times of pogroms and persecution.

Global internationalism

God’s Plan for Israel

• Isa. 44:26, “Who confirms the word of His

servant, and performs the counsel of His messengers; Who says to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be inhabited,’ to the cities of Judah, ‘You shall be built,’ and I will raise up her waste places;”

• Jer. 16:15, “but, ‘The LORD lives who brought

up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.”

God’s Plan for Israel

• Jer. 23:3, “ ‘But I will gather the remnant of My flock
• ut of all countries where I have driven them, and

bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,’ says the LORD.

Two Distinct Attempts to Discredit Israel’s Right to the Land

• 1. Petition to get the Balfour Declaration

rescinded.


• 2. To discredit Israel’s right to all of the

land west of the Jordan by focusing on the 6-Day War.

2 Tim. 2:11, “This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him (Rom. 6:3), We shall also live with Him. 2 Tim. 2:12, “If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. 2 Tim. 2:13, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”

2 Tim. 3:12, “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”
