Obligation to Practice in West Virginia:
– Students who are awarded a scholarship must sign a contract and practice full-time (32-40 hours per week) for a minimum of

Professions Shortage Area (HPSA). Half-time service will be considered. – Students are responsible for locating a practice site and must agree to provide medical services to West Virginia Medicaid and CHIP recipients.

Eligibility for Other Financial Incentives:
– Students who are awarded a Medical Scholarship may also qualify for other financial incentives for rural practice in West Virginia. In some cases, the service obligations can be met concurrently.

– Fourth year dental students at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, who intend to practice in West Virginia.

– $50,000 for a 2 yr commitment

Loan Repayment Program (LRP) Eligible Disciplines: Medicine, Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Physician Assistant, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Professional Counselors, Health Service Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists What’s Covered: Up to $50,000 for a 2-year commitment to an approved NHSC site.
