History of the Helsinki Business College
Helsinki Business College was founded in 1881
Owner: Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce – Over 6.000 members, the biggest chamber of commerce in the North Europe – The oldest business college in the capital area
Finnish Business College was founded in 1898
Owner: Foundation of the Finnish Business College – Members are associations of the Finnish business life – The first business college in Finland educating in the Finnish language
The two colleges were merged together in 2009.
Helsinki Business College from 2009
- The merged college is well prepared to respond to the changing
labor and competence needs of industry and commerce.
- We offer a comprehensive selection of courses which allows
students to specialize in their studies.
- Helsinki Business College has 130 employees, 70 of them are
teachers.
- There are about 3000 students, of whom some 1600 are full time
young students. 20 % of the students do not speak Finnish as mother language. The students represent about 50 different nationalities.
- The college has one big ICT & Business Campus in Pasila.
