  • A ‘sea of green’
  • Very few outdoor opportunities for residents
  • Topography ‘the slope’ – a problem but also an opportunity
  • Lack of usable north/south pedestrian routes/connections
  • Over dominance of roads and parking
  • Site rated as ‘low quality/poor’ by Glasgow City Council’s Open Space Audit

Why a new Park for Cardonald?

slide-4
SLIDE 4
  • Complementary to the investment in Moss Heights Flats
  • High number of children and families within the flats
  • Commitment to ‘wider role’ activity
  • In a position to invest some capital – assist with attracting match.
  • Who else was going to do it?!

Why a Housing Association?
