Chemical Treatment

SLIDE 4

 Electrochemical properties of both water itself and minerals  Applying DC voltage to electrodes  Anode & Cathode Electrolysis and electrochemical reaction  Non Chemical & Less/Zero water blowdown

GWT Technology Principle

 Scaling Control  Corrosion Control  Biological Growth Control Cathode Reaction

 pH value up to 13. CaCO3 attaching with biological slime/fouling will precipitate and become sediment to be removed out.

 Anode Reaction

 pH value low to 3. Strong oxidizing ions like OH, O3 and Hypochlorite, etc. are generated to kill bacteria and algae in cooling water.

Mechanism of Water Treatment

Scaling Control Biological Growth Control Corrosion Control

CaCO3(49.5%) and MgCO3(25.1%) was tested out from the sample of scaling deposit.

GWT System & Flow Diagram

 GWT system is installed in bypass line, and take 5-10% of cooling tower flow through GWT and treat. Scaling and slime will be removed as waste deposit.

Comparison with Chemical Treatment

GWT (Non Chemical ) Chemical

Electrolysis, Electrochemical Less/Zero blowdown, No polution Low operation cost

Principle Operation Cost Environmental

High COC, save water Low COC, waste water Chelation, Inhibition, Oxidization High operation cost Secondary polution
