  • In FY 2011 the BSC went to a low of $1,625 which was at FY 1995

level.

Some of the Adjustments for FY 2020

  • Increase for Teacher salaries by 4% or more (some were up to 9%)
  • Required step increase for teachers as well
  • Increase for Language Immersion Program at Carver Lyon Elementary
  • Increase for RESET program
  • Increase for a step for classified staff

  • Reduce travel paid from general fund
  • Freeze vacancies for other than teachers with some exceptions

  • Decrease utilities/energy costs

  • Step increase for Teachers
  • Also, 5% salary schedule adjustment for teachers

  • Increase for retirement 1% - employer share
  • The above increases amount to about $10 million

Richland One will continue to implement Zero Based Budgeting (ZBB)

  • Each school and department will justify all amounts for FY 2021
  • Each school will receive an allocation of staff and component

budget based on student population

  • Everything above that will have to be justified
  • Each department will have to justify all Full Time Equivalents

(FTEs) and all component budget amounts

  • March 9 at Satchel Ford Elementary School

Need to contact state legislators to fully fund education – Base Student Cost should be at least $3,164 or more
