A program exclusive to Abbott Diabetes Care that allows/shows pharmacies how to provide additional service and value to some of their highest value customers – people with diabetes

What is the objective of FreeStyle Link?

• Assist with better health outcomes for people with diabetes
• Create a sustainable business model for pharmacy
• Grow number of activated meters
• Increase the value to the customer of electronic reports

This will generate revenue for the pharmacy, increased sales, increased scripts and more loyal customers

How does it work

scripts are dispensed patients are flagged for discussion

• If they have a need for a new meter

choose the FreeStyle meter that’s best for them

• If they’re using insulin a FreeStyle Optium Neo may be

more suitable

• If they’re on orals a FreeStyle Lite or FreeStyle Freedom

Lite may be best suited

• Take this meter from the FOC stock
• Kept separately from the front of shop stock
• The two should never be mixed together

If they do have a need for a new meter take from FOC stock

• Make sure they have everything they

need to begin testing

to Owners Setup Guide (in the box) and Section 16 on how to turn on the insulin logging feature

• Have the customer complete the warranty card and

collect proof of their medication this could be:

• Copy of NDSS card (if it shows I for insulin)
• Copy of script (name blacked out on copy)
• Copy of medication sticker (re-print from dispensary

name blacked out on copy)

Retain warranty card and proof of meds

How does it work?

• Then place the card and proof of

medication together in the yellow folder for collection by Abbott Diabetes Care representative

• Please separate the cards of those people
• n insulin who got a FreeStyle Optium Neo

and all other cards

Place in yellow Abbott folder provided

How does it work?

• Encourage the customer to return in 3-4 weeks

after they’ve been using the new meter

• They need to bring their meter with them
• Explain you can download and print a report

they can look at and/or take to their doctor

• Your representative will take you through

FreeStyle Auto Assist and FreeStyle Auto Assist Neo training

• Your representative will configure the Auto-

save feature.

• Do not delete the files saved by serial number

as these will be used as proof of downloads

Encourage them to return to pharmacy to have meter downloaded and report printed
