3 main scales in the official topographic mapping in Austria

– 1 : 50 000, 1 : 200 000, 1 : 500 000 (since 1959) – 1 : 250 000 since 2001 for the Austrian Armed Forces, 1 : 200 000 remained a civil map series (until 2009) – the first civil‐military map series 1 : 250 000 was published in 2010

utstanding number will be produced in the next years
Adaptation of the layout of the map series 1 : 250 000 to the actual

design used for the other scales (planned to be published in 2014)

Discussion about a new and modern design for the symbolisation of the

map 1 : 50 000
