Background and Proposal

Historical non-conforming uses found occurring onsite:

  • boat and engine repairs and maintenance;
  • storage of boats taller than 3.7 metres (12 ft.); and
  • boat and engine sales and displays

Zoning Bylaw Amendment:

  • Adds the above noted uses to both M3 and CR3 zones
  • Legitimize these historical outdoor uses
  • Allows continued marina operations in full compliance

with the zoning bylaw.

Recommendations and Rationale

Recommendations:

  • 1st Reading provided for the zone amending bylaw; and
  • Public Hearing be scheduled

Rationale:  Proposed uses are historically pre-existing and are a part of typical marina operations;  Marina has been operating for many years without substantial complaints;  No new buildings or construction is proposed;  No additional parking is required; and  Allows the marina to operate in full compliance with the zoning bylaw.
