Tracking remote advice

slide-17
SLIDE 17

#ClinicsConference #PowerOfProBono LawWorks Clinics InfoExchange

Issues to consider (remote advice data)

  • Have you been able to log

(remote advice) inquiries?

  • Record keeping - GDPR compliant

systems and processes

  • Has data been reported back by

volunteers – are there any gaps?

  • Look at what data you do have

Outcomes Monitoring

Following up and understanding the outcomes of advice

  • More valuable than ‘outputs’
  • Useful for evaluating (and reporting back to funders)
  • Service quality
  • Efficacy and efficiency
  • Allocation of resources
  • What is the benefit to the client
  • Attribution
  • Beginning of a “co-production” (user engagement) approach

Outcomes: Better Information Project

From 2016-2018 we ran an outcomes monitoring exercise with clinics; clinics taking part ‘consented’ clients to be followed up via telephone feedback at least six weeks from being advised at clinics.

  • 75 clinics agreed to take part
  • 38 clinics submitted forms
  • 993 clients gave informed consent
  • 209 clients completed calls

Outcomes: Better Information Project

What we found from a representative sample of clinic clients:-

  • Over 90% of clients said they had been listened to well in clinics
  • 25% said their problem was fully or partially settled, and a further

17% said it was possible to take further action

  • Of those who said they were thinking of going to court or tribunal,

25% changed their plans following advice

  • 68% said that advice has helped their level of stress, and 52% said

they felt physically better as a result of the advice

  • 87% said they had an increased understanding of next steps
