Credentialing is the verification and approval of a practitioner's credentials.
- Did they go to school? Where? When?
- Did they obtain their degree?
- What is their employment history and in what capacity?
- Have they been involved in any malpractice cases? What was the outcome?

✓Primary focus – Original/Traditional Medicare ✓Need to expand beyond original Medicare ✓Analysis of Medicare Advantage Plans
✓ 15 +/- pages in length ✓ Multiple attachments ✓ 3 to 6 months to completion of each application ➢Can take up to 18 months for final approval for 1 NP for 1 insurance carrier Three Steps:
- 1. Practice application
- 2. Medical Director/Physician application
- 3. NP application
15 applications per practice x 27 NPs = approximately 400+ applications to complete the project for the 5 identified Medicare Advantage plans ✓ Internal staff ✓ Outside credentialing agency

- Contracts with Aetna and more recently with IBC/BS for Keystone 65 and are
