OBJECTIVE OF TODAY’S DIALOGUE

The dialogue will:

  • reflect on importance of strong surveillance systems and real time data during

COVID-19 pandemic and for other infectious diseases;

  • highlight gaps in current malaria surveillance and reporting systems and ways to

improve them;

  • discuss the policy process in making malaria a notifiable disease and identify

stakeholders critical to the process and

  • provide recommendations to improve surveillance in hard-to-reach communities.

Key points raised during this dialogue will be shared at the APLMA Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) on 11th Sep 2020

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE BREAKOUT SESSION

  • All participants to be divided into approx. groups of 9-10 people randomly.
  • In each group please select:

a facilitator (who also keeps an eye on the time) and a recorder (a person who captures the two key messages)

  • Please discuss the breakout question in your group.
  • Webcam and mic ON for all the participants
  • 5 minutes before the end of the session please start summarizing & agree
  • n two key messages.
  • Once back in the plenary the chair will ask you to copy your two key

messages into the plenary chat box.

  • Enjoy the conversation.
