The Theme me # #2: Clear Vision
Need Clear Plan
Church Vision + Plan
10
A clear vision statement, but plan needs more clarity
Vision and Plan:
- Strong knowledge of vision statement, follow-through plan needs to be
clearer
- Our areas of emphasis change regularly
- Accountability and communication around initiatives needs significant
improvement
- Need better communication of church vision
- Determine who we are, what we want to be about, focus our resources,
and stick steadfastly to this plan
- We tend to be externally focused, but need significant internal
attention
11
What we heard
12
The Theme me # #3: Leadership
Church Leadership
13
83% trust Church leadership, 66% believe the right people are in the right roles
Leadership:
- Questioning if we have the right people in the right roles, with
the right organizational structure
- Consider if we have the right number of pastors / staff
- Develop a bench of lay leaders and future church leaders
- Importance of accountability
- Questions around who is on Leadership Council and what their
role is
- Potential for increased diversity in leadership, especially women

The Theme me # #4: Build Up the Found

Teaching and Shepherding
17
Over 50% participate regularly in Sunday School and 68% have had meaningful pastoral interaction in the last two years
Children and Students
18
Children and students are being cared for, but room for improvement
Build Up the Found
- Desire for member nurture, care and discipleship
- Staff is stretched too thin
- Need to improve Men’s and Children’s ministry
- Variety of other areas that may need increased ministry focus:
Counseling, Singles, Young Adults, Divorced care, etc.
- Sermons are valuable with desire to go deeper and address current
issues; consider length of sermons
- Desire for greater sense of community
- Focus on community groups – structure, oversight, equipping

What we heard

The Theme me # #5: Church Planting
Survey Input on Church Priorities
21
There are concerns about our priorities, and the plan for Church Planting
Church Planting
- Important to count the cost before moving forward
- Although church planting is a high priority, many are
concerned with the impact, timing, and the plan
- Need to carefully consider our church plant strategy
- Focus on spiritual formation and discipleship to prepare for
future plants and rebuild after the Redeemer Plant
- Jay Traylor is highly regarded among us, and feedback on
planting was only reflective of our church, not him
