  • Alliance to Fight Avoidable Blindness (AFAB)

Campaign launched in 2008, AIDA joined in 2012

  • Free

charge eye surgery and medical examination;

  • Azerbaijani ophthalmologists also participated.
  • Beneficiaries: nearly 50000, including children,

women, girls, the old and etc.

  • Patients now able to work and sustain their

families;

  • Local ophthalmologists got training;
  • Diversity of actors: Islamic Development Bank

(IDB), ministries of health, local hospitals and specialized NGOs from the region
