  2. OUR MANDATE • Our mandate as ADA is to create, develop, transform and unlock the Agribusiness potential and opportunities with within the province. This will be achieved with the involvement of all relevant stakeholders. • Agro - processing is transforming products (processing raw materials) that originate from agriculture, forestry and fisheries • Value - added agriculture entails changing a raw agricultural product into something new through packaging, processing, cooling, drying, extracting or any other type of process that differentiates the product from the original raw commodity

ADA PROGRAMMES • Programme 2 - Comprehensive capacity building • 2368 individuals trained in agribusiness sector • Programme 3 - Enterprise and value chain development • 71 black-owned enterprises supported (operational inputs and planting; refurbishment and construction of dams pack houses, silos, processing facilities and dairy parlours; installation of agro processing equipment; boreholes and irrigation systems; supply of refrigerated trucks; market access, offtake agreements and infrastructure planning • Programme 4 - Infrastructure development • 1603 jobs created

ADA AGRIPROCESSING PROJECTS ❑ BBS Farms – 100% black woman owned – Based in Port Shepstone – Fruit, Nut and Vegetable production and processing – First black woman farmer to export Macadamia Nuts to the United States, Europe and the Far East – Currently mentors other farmers – Exporter of the year

ADA AGRIPROCESSING PROJECTS (continued) ❑ Mthethwa Processing (Frutee Belliez) – 100% Black women owned (Youth project) – Vegetable processing – Factory Shell procured – Market has been secured – Refrigerated truck has been procured ❑ Ma Ande Investments – 100% black owned – Based in Kokstad – Produce and process Sour Milk (Maas)

ADA FUNDING APPLICATIONS PROCESS ❑ ADA Funding Application process – Letter requesting assistance (i.e. farming enterprise or training) – Business Plan – Feasibility study – Proof of ownership of land / long term lease – Offtake agreements – Financial Statements – Declaration of previous or current assistance from any government institution ❑ i.e. 50:50 Contribution ❑ Funding Approval
