 Disconnection from God – through unbelief, rejection of

God’s love and His right to govern our lives, and disobedience

 Disconnection from self – through childhood experience,

through guilt, self- hatred, self- punishment

 Disconnection from significant others – through

relationship breakdown, emotional isolation, loneliness, self- absorption

3. THE CURE

 Re-affirm that we have been created by God in His image

and although we are deeply fallen we have been completely redeemed through the death and resurrection of Christ, reconciled to God and indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

 Repent of our self-reliance and any rejection of God’s right to

govern our lives. Recommit to trusting God with every aspect

f our lives.

3. THE CURE

 Reconnect with God as our heavenly Father, who has

promised to supply all our emotional, spiritual and physical needs through Christ who loves us and has given His life for us.

 Seek the forgiveness of those we have hurt as a result of our

fear driven behaviours.

 Begin to appropriate God’s spirit of power, love and self-

control.
